Change only occurs when the comfort of the homeland is more uncomfortable than the perils of the voyage. Many of us are unhappy with our jobs, our relationships, and our life situations; but, many of us never make changes because the unpredictability and unknowns that come with change are more scary than remaining exactly the way we are.
Many of us claim we have no time to improve ourselves, but the time we do have we spend on mindless entertainment that completely gets us nowhere. Many of us say we have no time to learn something new. Many of us say we have no time to look for a new job. Yet, despite these claims, we've unlocked new levels in Candy Crush and spent five minutes responding to someone's comment on Twitter about Kim Kardashian's dress. The reality is many of us devote our free time not to improving our lives but to mindless garbage that acts like an opiate to numb us to the dissatisfaction we feel about our position in life.
Many of us do not appreciate the urgency of life. We view life as a marathon and believe that someday we'll accomplish our goals, when in reality our lives could end at any moment and they could end with us being unhappy. Most people go to their graves with the hope of 'someday'.
